About us We are a small family practice, located in the heart of Boise, where our patients are treated like family. We're searching for a compassionate and professional dental assistant with exceptional communication skills and a confident chair-side manner to join our team. Our work environment includes: On-the-job training Duties: - Assist the dentist during dental procedures - Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations - Take and develop dental x-rays - Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment - Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental procedures - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques - Perform patient assessments and record medical histories - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records - Provide support to dentists and other dental staff as needed Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Completion of a dental assistant program or relevant certification preferred - Experience working in a dental office or similar healthcare setting is a plus - Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology - Familiarity with medical coding and electronic health record systems (such as Epic) - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities - Ability to work well in a team environment - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change based on the needs of the dental practice.
