Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Brownstown, IN

We are looking to add an additional assistant to the team! We especially would like someone who can aid in making patients feel comfortable and giving them a pleasant experience at the office. We would like someone with prior dental knowledge; although, prior training is not necessary. A dental X-ray certification will be required. In 2026, the office will be transitioning from Family Dental Centre of Jackson County to Marksberry Family Dental. Often times, the pt feels more comfortable with the assistant and will tell you things they will never tell doctor. The closer the relationship you have with patient, the easier it makes the whole process. Think of yourself as patient advocate and mediator between pt and doctor. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA and infection control protocols. Manage patient records using Eaglesoft to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all clinical activities to prevent infection transmission. Educate patients on dental health, procedures, and post-treatment care using appropriate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as needed. Skills Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about procedures and oral health maintenance. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
