Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, with experience in assisting with various dental treatments. You will work closely with our dentist and hygienists to deliver exceptional care, uphold our high standards, and ensure each patient's comfort from the moment they walk in the door. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care in a comfortable and efficient environment. Responsibilities Chairside Support: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Digital Radiography and Imaging: Take digital photographs, intraoral photographs, and other diagnostic images as needed. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain an encouraging and reassuring demeanor. Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Materials Management: Prepare, mix, and dispense dental materials (e.g., composites, amalgam, alginate) Inventory and Supplies: Monitor stock levels and ensure all instruments and materials are accounted for in each operatory preserving continuity of care. Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Team Collaboration in order to facilitate seamless patient experiences. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role is preferred with both restorative and surgical exposure. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging techniques is essential. Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Radiography Certification Proficiency in using dental software such as Open Dental is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care are crucial for success in this role.
