Registered Dental Hygienist - Pennyroyal Healthcare Services DBA: Community Dental - Hopkinsville, KY

REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Dentist SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AS REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST: 1. Conduct initial oral screenings. 2. Take vital statistics of patients, including monitoring blood pressure, pulse, and/or respiration. In the event of abnormal readings, the Hygienist will immediately notify a nurse, supervisor, or other medical professional on staff. 3. Input vital statistics, health measurements, and other relevant health data into each patient's EHR. 4. Cleaning and helping protect patients’ teeth (e.g., removing calculus and plaque, apply sealants or applying fluoride). 5. Educating patients of all ages on proper teeth care. 6. Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before the examination. 7. Sterilize dental instruments properly. 8. Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history. 9. Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis. 10. Take x-rays or dental impressions. 11. Documentation in EMR to meet standards of care and billing requirements. 12. Monitor supplies. 13. Other duties as assigned/required based upon scope of practice. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role 2. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA) 3. Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment. 4. Outstanding communication skills. 5. A patient and friendly personality. 6. Attention to detail. 7. Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job. 8. Team Player 9. Preference given to applicants who are certified to give local anesthesia. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Dental Hygienist; Associate or Bachelor’s degree; Valid license to practice; Must have a valid driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Must pass a legally required Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse and Neglect check, and a Sexual Offender Registry check. Must present proof of a recent (less than one-year-old) TB skin test. This is a 32 hour per week position. Pay will be based upon experience.
