Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance verification while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and proficiency with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent front desk customer service Schedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Epic Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette Assist with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up on unpaid claims Manage filing of medical records, documentation review, and office administrative support tasks Support clinic staff with administrative duties related to care plans, intake procedures, and office management Experience Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous Experience handling insurance verification processes and Medicare claims processing preferred Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing) Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing procedures Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and patient service orientation Join our team to provide outstanding administrative support in a fast-paced dental environment while utilizing your expertise in medical terminology, billing, coding, and office management.
