Dental Hygienist - Smile Designers - San Diego, CA

Job Summary We are seeking two Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will work hand in hand with our hygiene coordinator to provide exceptional patient care and perform dental cleanings. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Take and develop medical imaging such as CBCTs & X-rays. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness; update patient files accordingly. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment. Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review practices relevant to dental records. Skills Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical imaging, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Skilled in patient care, patient assessment and excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality protocols related to medical records.
