Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Minneapolis, MN

Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with dental and medical office systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prior experience in dental or medical office management is a plus. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations including check-in and check-out procedures Schedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification. Collect payments and process medical billing, coding, and documentation review using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes Manage electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries Maintain accurate patient records, files, and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards Assist with insurance claims processing and follow-up on outstanding payments Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence Coordinate patient intake procedures and ensure timely appointment scheduling Skills Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar systems Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), and insurance billing processes Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing) Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient interactions professionally Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Previous experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly desirable Provide occasional backup support to our clinical team with sterilization duties (full training provided).
