Overview Join our dynamic orthodontic team as a Lead Orthodontic Assistant in a full-time role dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our orthodontic specialists. This energetic position offers the opportunity to lead clinical operations, coordinate patient treatments, and ensure smooth daily workflows within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. As a key team member, you will utilize your expertise in dental assisting and orthodontics to elevate the patient experience while mentoring junior staff and maintaining high standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Duties Oversee daily orthodontic clinical operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery Assist orthodontists with chairside procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance management Lead and coordinate orthodontic assisting activities using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize treatment efficiency Manage patient records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) using Greyfinch, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Prepare and maintain dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and medical imaging tools for accurate diagnostics Supervise and mentor junior orthodontic assistants, providing training on aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and anatomy knowledge Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, keep track of inventory and processing medical documentation, and updating medical records Requirements Proven experience in orthodontic assisting in an orthodontic office - preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental procedures related to orthodontics Proficiency with EMR systems- familiarity with Greyfinch is a plus but not a requirement Certification in X-ray techniques and vital signs monitoring required; additional certifications in infection control or medical coding are advantageous Excellent understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive, energetic attitude that motivates others Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards Join us if youâre passionate about advancing your career in orthodontics while making a meaningful difference in patientsâ lives!
