Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and compliance with health regulations. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dentist and other staff to deliver exceptional patient care in a friendly and professional environment. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations. Provide preventive dental care, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining good dental health. Document patient treatments and maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in medical coding for procedures performed during patient visits. Utilize Dentrix software for scheduling, documentation, and patient management. Take vital signs as necessary to ensure patient safety during procedures. Perform pediatric dentistry tasks with a gentle approach for younger patients. Collaborate with the dental team to provide total care for patients. Conduct dental imaging as required for diagnostic purposes. Requirements Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Strong knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality. Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental software systems is preferred. Ability to assess patients effectively and provide appropriate recommendations for care. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor towards patients of all ages.
