Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic pediatric dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care, focusing on patient education and preventive care. You will work closely with our dental team to ensure that patients receive the best possible experience and outcomes during their visits. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients, ensuring optimal oral health. Document and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care. Assist dentists during examinations and procedures as needed, including dental assisting tasks. Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs. Utilize Dentrix software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies. Work effectively with pediatric patients, providing a comfortable environment for children during their visits. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Proficiency in dental terminology and understanding of medical coding is preferred. Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, with the ability to engage effectively with younger patients. Knowledge of medical records management and patient assessment techniques. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
