Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chairside Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will support dentists during various procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners. Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records. Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to ensure precise documentation. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Assist with sterilization processes and infection control measures to uphold safety standards within the clinic. Educate patients on post-operative care and oral health maintenance tailored to pediatric or adult patients. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing patient records and documentation. Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for clinical safety. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Skilled in chairside assisting with expertise in four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow. Ability to take vital signs accurately and support pediatric dentistry procedures when required. Familiarity with endodontic procedures, prosthodontics, general dentistry practices, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills suitable for patient education and team collaboration within a busy dental clinic environment. This position is ideal for motivated individuals committed to delivering high-quality patient care while supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced setting. Prior experience in dental assisting or related healthcare fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to develop their skills further.
