About the Role: As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a critical role in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases within our patient community. Your primary focus will be to provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including cleaning teeth, examining patients for signs of oral diseases, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques. You will collaborate closely with dentists and other dental professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that enhance patient outcomes. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring comfort and trust while delivering high-quality clinical services. Ultimately, your work will contribute significantly to improving patients' overall health and well-being through effective dental hygiene practices. We are a busy but fun office and we treat our patients like family. Minimum Qualifications: Valid and current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the State of Wa. Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral pathology, and dental hygiene techniques. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and interact with patients. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a dental office or clinical setting. Familiarity with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, preferred Spanish speaking is a plus Responsibilities: Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar. Conduct oral health assessments by examining patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and other oral conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of maintaining regular dental visits. Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in compliance with legal and professional standards. Collaborate with dentists to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education. Skills: The required skills enable the dental hygienist to perform clinical procedures accurately and safely, ensuring patient comfort and effective treatment outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential for educating patients on oral health and motivating them to maintain good hygiene practices. Attention to detail and organizational skills are used daily to document patient information and maintain compliance with health regulations. Preferred skills such as proficiency with dental software enhance efficiency in managing patient records and scheduling. Additionally, specialized certifications and bilingual abilities allow the hygienist to provide a broader range of services and improve accessibility for diverse communities.
