Non-exempt Up to $22.00 Job Summary: Performs semi-technical dental and routine clerical work. Work involves assisting the dentist during examination and treatment; cleaning, sterilizing, and arranging instrument; assisting dentist with X-rays. Work under the supervision of the dentist and performs routine tasks according to standard procedures and instructions while promoting the well-being of all people of Southern NM through community health and social services. Core Competencies: Bilingual English / Spanish Working knowledge of key dental procedures such as sterilization and X-ray techniques and accurate posting of patient treatments Working knowledge of dental instruments and their use Working knowledge of OSHA administration as it pertains to dental practices Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality High degree of organization and attention to detail Demonstrated self initiative and adaptability with ability to take direction as well Job Requirements: High School Diploma with six months experience in a dental office and completion of a training course in dental assisting. Certification as a Dental Assistant in New Mexico; New Mexico radiology certification. Current New Mexico X-Ray Certification or must be able to obtain within 6 months of employment. Must pass a criminal background check; maintain a current driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and maintain a clean driving record. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
