Job description Summary We are looking for a professional, dedicated and reliable dental assistant to work 40 hours/week(Mon-Fri) 7:00 AM- 3 PM at the Bristol County House of Correction in Dartmouth, MA . Summary: To assist dentist during examination and treatment of patients Key Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct assistance by keeping the operating field clear, passing instruments and suctioning. Sterilize instruments in the dental office. Responsible for mixing of restorative materials. Assist in taking intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays. Develop and mount x-ray films. Perform intra-oral tasks as defined by law. Ensure that there are a sufficient number of trays set up for the day’s patients: pulpotomy, caries control, amalgam, perio/scaling. Maintain x-ray unit, processor, autoclave and dental units according to specifications. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dental clinics by cleaning the area daily and sanitizing the area weekly. Take inventory of supplies and equipment to maintain sufficient levels. Order supplies and equipment as needed with approval of the dentist. It is an essential part of the job that CPS can ask the employee to work beyond his/her regularly scheduled hours. Follow all security rules and regulations. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
