Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining infection control standards and utilizing advanced dental technology to enhance patient outcomes. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures. Record vital signs and medical history, updating patient medical records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and patient records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and upcoming procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards. Assist with specialized procedures in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other areas of general dentistry as needed. Ensure the dental clinic environment adheres to safety protocols related to anatomy knowledge, medical imaging, and infection control. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Skills in chairside assisting across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry. Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing preferred; CPR certification is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and clinical tasks.
