Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in North Port, FL

Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle insurance verification, and maintain accurate patient records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and terminology. Experience with electronic health records (EHR), Dentrix dental software, and familiarity with HIPAA regulations are highly valued. Prior clinic or dental office experience are preferred to enhance patient service delivery. Duties Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional front desk customer service Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform collections as needed Review and update patient medical records ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette Maintain organized filing systems for paper and electronic records Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10-key typing), and document management using Microsoft Office tools Ensure compliance with health information management protocols and assist in maintaining accurate care plans and medical records Requirements Proven experience in a dental office setting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology. Familiarity with Dentrix dental office management software is preferred Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry capabilities. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
