Hours Monday - Thursday 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm Every other Saturday from 9-2 Job Summary Join our dynamic pediatric dental team as a Pediatric Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive, comfortable experience for young patients. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional dental care tailored specifically for children, ensuring a safe and friendly environment. Duties Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and procedures using chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive pediatric care Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards Educate young patients on dental health practices using age-appropriate communication, utilizing dental terminology effectively Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties, appointment scheduling, and maintaining organized medical documentation and records Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings Knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, X-ray techniques, infection control, and aseptic methods Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to pediatrics, and proficiency in medical coding for dental procedures Ability to perform vital signs assessment and operate medical imaging equipment safely Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner Certification or training in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn specialized pediatric procedures is essential Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact children's oral health!
