Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop medical images such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes in systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care to pediatric patients with patience and compassion. Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization methods in a dental setting. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical imaging techniques, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
