Position Summary: The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) is a key member of the clinical team, providing chairside assistance and performing expanded functions in accordance with Tennessee state guidelines. This full-time position is ideal for both experienced EFDAs and new graduates seeking a supportive environment to grow their skills and confidence . Schedule & Compensation: Status: Full-time. Pay Range: $20-$27 per hour , based on experience and certification. Key Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during general, restorative, and preventive procedures. Perform expanded functions as permitted by Tennessee law (including restorations, sealants, temporary crowns, cord packing, etc.). Prepare and break down treatment rooms following strict infection control standards. Take diagnostic dental radiographs and intraoral photographs. Deliver compassionate chairside care and patient education. Accurately document clinical notes and procedures in the dental software. Maintain dental instruments, supplies, and inventory. Support efficient patient flow and on-time scheduling. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and office protocols. Qualifications: EFDA certification (required). Current Dental Assistant certification/licensure in the state of Tennessee. CPR/BLS certification (required). New graduates are welcome to apply. Previous dental assisting experience preferred but not required. Strong clinical interest and willingness to learn. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
