Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Tyler, TX

Overview We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth administrative workflows. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and proficiency with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Dental Office Receptionist plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service while maintaining efficient office operations. Eaglesoft proficiency is a plus. Duties Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including intake and documentation review Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures Collect payments and handle medical billing processes, including CPT coding and ICD coding where applicable Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or similar platforms Process documentation review related to care plans, insurance claims, and billing documentation Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records Support medical administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, and follow-up communications Ensure the office environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Qualifications Prior experience in a dental office or medical clinic setting preferred; dental clinic experience is highly desirable Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft Knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and billing procedures Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry capabilities (10 key typing) Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are advantageous Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong organizational skills with experience in office management or administrative support roles in healthcare settings This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where your skills directly contribute to patient care excellence.
