Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and X-ray equipment while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA guidelines. Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Educate patients on dental terminology, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster understanding and cooperation. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and infection control practices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records efficiently. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and accurately. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices to provide compassionate care tailored for children. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members like dental receptionists and hygienists while providing clear instructions to patients.
