Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients across general and pediatric dentistry settings. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with chairside procedures including four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in EMR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control standards using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and patient care strategies. Ensure the clinical environment remains sterile, organized, and compliant with all safety standards. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Experience with pediatric dentistry and working with children (Pediatrics). Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding. Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, and medical imaging techniques. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of EMR systems for accurate documentation review and record keeping. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health practices. Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments is preferred.
