Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient care. Take and develop X-ray images using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards. Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring special care or pediatric dentistry services. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and maintain knowledge of anatomy to support safe procedures. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding is essential for accurate record-keeping and billing processes. Familiarity with dental assisting tools such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and dental chairs is required. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures is critical to ensure patient safety. Ability to operate EMR systems including Dentrix, and other dental management software effectively. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance and infection control is expected.
