Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems, dental terminology, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Registered Dental Hygienist will collaborate with the dental team to deliver comprehensive oral health services in a friendly and professional environment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent disease. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper aseptic technique. Document patient care accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with medical coding standards. Support pediatric dentistry procedures and provide age-appropriate patient care for children and adolescents. Collaborate with dentists during four-handed dentistry procedures to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient files. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization, handling of dental instruments, and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Monitor patientsâ vital signs before, during, and after treatment to ensure safety throughout procedures. Experience Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry preferred; experience in dental clinics or offices is highly desirable. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with familiarity with EMR systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Experience with chairside assisting, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical coding standards related to dental records management.
