Dental Hygienist - Friends of Family Health Center - La Habra, CA

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for our patients. Experience with EMR systems and proficiency in pediatric dentistry are highly valued. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate aseptic techniques Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review medical records for relevant health information prior to treatment Support infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive dental care, including pediatric dentistry when applicable Ensure proper documentation review and medical coding for billing purposes Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification BIlingual English/Spanish Preferred Proven experience in general dentistry, with specific experience in pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or EMR systems Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform patient care duties with compassion and professionalism Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and vital signs monitoring Experience with dental assisting tasks, including chairside assisting and documentation review Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices Excellent communication skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and patient education Join our team to deliver high-quality dental care in a supportive environment that values professional growth and exceptional patient service.
