Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be proficient in various dental practices, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry. The RDH will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental hygiene services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages. Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to assist the dentist during procedures. Take and document vital signs, medical imaging, and medical records accurately. Conduct patient assessments to evaluate oral health and develop personalized care plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain an aseptic environment by following infection control protocols and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with dental terminology standards. Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient experiences and outcomes. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education as required. Qualifications Valid RDH license in the state of practice. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques and pediatric dentistry is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to perform documentation review and medical coding as needed.
