Vision/Ideal Outcomes of Position A licensed dental professional who educates and treats new and existing hygiene patients to maintain and /or work towards achieving optimal oral health. The RDH will work within the parameters set by the doctor and will develop a hygiene program for our patients that strives to help them understand and become proficient at practicing preventative dentistry. This means not only understanding periodontal disease and treating it effectively but also, taking diagnostic x-rays as necessary, and providing essential education in regards to oral hygiene and overall dental health. It is essential that we help each patient learn something new at each continuing care appointment. The hygienist serves as “co-pilot” in navigating a patients plan for long term, complete care. The goal is to work synergistically with the dentist and the team to make sure that every patient receives the best hygiene, restorative and cosmetic care possible. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Assist in chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Support general dentistry procedures by providing effective patient care and ensuring smooth workflow within the dental office Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures Proficiency with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient recordkeeping Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology to ensure safe practice Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and pediatric dentistry procedures when needed Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Benefits 401K Contribution Uniform Stipend Paid Vacation and Holidays Dental HRA Continuing Education Bonus Opportunities Pay Competitive pay based on experience Schedule Monday and Tuesday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Wednesday and Thursday 6:30 AM -1:00 PM.
