Dental Smiles of NC is hiring an experienced Dental Assistant II to join our growing, patient-focused dental team. We are looking for a dependable, skilled assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and consistently delivers excellent chairside care. Key ResponsibilitiesChairside Assisting Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment Assist the dentist during a wide range of four-handed dentistry procedures Document patient health histories and ensure accurate treatment charting Assist during dental procedures and clinical emergencies as needed Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care Expanded Functions Take high-quality diagnostic X-rays ( Nomad units used ) Take dental impressions and create diagnostic models Place matrix bands Perform coronal polishing Fabricate temporary restorations and removable appliances as needed Infection Control & Lab Duties Maintain strict OSHA, CDC, and ADA infection control standards Sterilize instruments and ensure operatory cleanliness between patients Pour and trim models Fabricate whitening trays, mouth guards, and temporary crowns Patient & Team Interaction Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and charts Provide excellent chairside, phone, and patient service Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative team Qualifications & Experience Dental Assistant II (DA II) certification – North Carolina Current and valid NC radiography certification Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry Strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy Experience with X-ray technology (Nomads) Familiarity with EMR systems ( CareStack preferred ) Knowledge of aseptic techniques and patient care protocols Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills Must maintain all required NC state licenses and certifications Job Type: Full-time Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching AD&D insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Prescription drug insurance Retirement plan Safety equipment provided Vision insurance Work Location: In person
