RDA/Front Office - Concord, CA - Professional environment

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our small but mighty dental team with lots of growth ahead. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care. Prior experience with Dentrix and Dexis is highly desirable. A strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures is essential for success in this position.

Duties

• Assist dentist during a variety of procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Take/Upload X-rays
• Record vital signs and medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) in Dentrix
• Float between front and back office to support administrative tasks such as check in/out patients, scheduling appointments, collecting/posting payments to ledgers, answering phones etc. (temporarily)
• Manage medical records and coding to ensure proper documentation for billing and insurance purposes.
• Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions.
• Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency.
• Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and sanitation procedures.
• Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of the office and clinical areas
• clean and sanitize restrooms according to health and safety standards
• Remove trash and dispose of waste properly

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems including Dentrix and Dexis
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Experience with X-ray techniques and dental imaging technology including 3D scanners.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings.
• Expertise in infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within a dental environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices.
