Responsibilities Assist hygenists during a variety of dental procedures, Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic environment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring vital signs during procedures to ensure patient safety. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining infection control standards. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and infection prevention protocols. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is preferred.
