Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team on Monday from 7-3pm. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control standards, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. This role offers an opportunity to work in a modern dental clinic utilizing advanced technology such as 3D scanners and electronic health records systems. The Registered Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a welcoming environment while adhering to all HIPAA regulations and dental best practices. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are followed Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate medical imaging equipment with precision Record vital signs and medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Manage patient records, medical documentation, and coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology Operate 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes and assist with other technical procedures involving medical imaging technology Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure Proven experience with dental assisting in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and records management Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners preferred Strong understanding of dental specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism This position is integral to providing comprehensive dental care while supporting the overall efficiency of our clinic.
