Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Lockhart, TX

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional support to both the dental team and our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist with various clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to a positive patient experience and maintaining high standards of care. The candidate must have references. Schedule Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 5pm Duties Help setting up and turning rooms. Take radiographs (panoramic, Hand held x-rays and dental photography, CT scan) Excellent at writing detailed patient notes. Assist with treatment in General dentistry and Oral Surgery. Attend to patientsâ need and concerns. Provide excellent customer service all times. Greet patients in a timely manner. Monitor the schedule and patient flow. CEREC Experience is a plus. Sprintray 3D printing Great computer skills Must Haves: Dependability TEAM PLAYER Friendliness Being a fast-paced learner Always maintaining a positive attitude Ability to multi-task. Education/Certification: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. Current radiography certification required. Dental Assistant certification (as required by the state). Current certification in CPR. Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as required. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, ensuring compliance with regulations. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care. Manage appointment scheduling, including patient follow-ups and confirmations. Utilize dental Open dental software for patient management. Operate 3D scanners for imaging when necessary. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and endodontics to support clinical procedures effectively. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Dental Assisting: 2 years ( required) Proficiency in dental documentation practices. Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health. Knowledge of dental software systems like Open Dental and Dexis is preferred. Experience with 3D scanning technology is advantageous.
