Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is highly preferred, along with familiarity in general and specialty dentistry procedures. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining high standards of infection control. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed Take dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable Manage patient flow efficiently, including greeting patients Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral hygiene instructions using appropriate dental terminology Maintain sterilization standards and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized between patients Assist with four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures Monitor patient comfort levels and provide chairside assistance throughout treatments Support the team with medical coding for insurance claims and billing purposes when needed Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners and other diagnostic tools Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is required; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, and anatomy knowledge is necessary Experience with Eaglesoft is highly desirable Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric patient management is a plus Certification in X-ray procedures or radiography preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training available for qualified candidates Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, dental terminology, and medical documentation standards is essential This position offers an engaging work environment where professionalism, attention to detail, and compassionate patient care are valued.
