Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care. This role involves working closely with dentists and patients in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred, along with a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. A background in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry is highly desirable. The Registered Dental Assistant will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards Take and develop X-rays and other medical imaging as needed, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history information accurately within electronic health records (Dentrix) Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and preparing materials for procedures Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental health maintenance Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to OSHA standards Support administrative tasks such as answering phones or assisting the dental receptionist when necessary Stay current on dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation requirements related to dental procedures Qualifications Valid state license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent certification Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting Proficiency with EMR system Dentrix Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety guidelines Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices Experience with 3D scanners or advanced imaging equipment is a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail Commitment to maintaining high standards of aseptic technique and infection control practices Join our professional team where your skills will contribute directly to patient care excellence.
