Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage medical documentation and records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for seamless patient data tracking. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and dental terminology to support efficient treatment delivery. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionistâscheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow smoothly. Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization, anatomy knowledge application, and maintaining a sterile environment during all procedures. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and billing processes. Experience with X-ray procedures, including the use of 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools specific to dentistry. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings while supporting pediatric dentistry needs when required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to handle sensitive patient information responsibly. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all agesâincluding pediatricsâand collaborate seamlessly with the dental team.
