Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, familiarity with dental software systems, and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures across various specialties. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment supporting general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring smooth clinic operations, maintaining high standards of infection control, and delivering compassionate patient assistance. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to radiation safety standards. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology explanations. Maintain dental supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to infection control guidelines. Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information and assisting with billing or coding using medical coding knowledge. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience in both general dentistry and specialized fields like pediatrics and prosthodontics. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures. Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner technology. Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical records management. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical documentation accurately. Knowledge of aseptic technique and anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Prior experience working in a busy dental clinic environment is preferred.
