Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take high-quality X-ray images and operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Eaglesoft accurately, ensuring all medical documentation and coding are complete and compliant with HIPAA standards. Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and addressing patient questions to foster comfort and trust. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, verify insurance details, and handle administrative tasks efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all tools are sterilized according to aseptic techniques. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting; CPR certification preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, as well as team members like dental receptionists and hygienists.
