ob Overview We are a well-established, high-quality orthodontic practice seeking a New York State Licensed Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist to join our growing team. This is a highly clinical role designed for a licensed professional who wants to work closely with the doctor and function at a high level within an orthodontic environment. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive orthodontic clinical procedures within NYS scope of practice, including: Bonding and debonding brackets and attachments Placing and removing archwires, ligatures, elastics, and separators Taking high-quality digital scans, intraoral photographs, and X-rays Delivering aligner therapy appointments and monitoring treatment progress Performing appliance adjustments and minor repairs as permitted Prepare patients for treatment and assist in diagnosing orthodontic needs through accurate records and documentation Educate patients and parents on appliance care, oral hygiene, elastics wear, and compliance protocols Monitor treatment progress and communicate observations to the orthodontist Maintain strict sterilization, infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance Proactively identify opportunities to improve clinical efficiency, systems, and patient experience Serve as a clinical leader and mentor within the team Schedule Monday â Wednesday: 8:45 AM â 6:20 PM Thursday: 10:00 AM â 7:20 PM One Saturday per month: 8:00 AM â 2:00 PM No Fridays or Saturdays during the summer Qualifications Current New York State Dental Assistant License or Dental Hygiene License (Required) Orthodontic clinical experience strongly preferred Current CPR certification Strong diagnostic awareness, clinical judgment, and attention to detail Excellent communication and patient management skills Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting Team-oriented mindset with leadership capability Comfortable with digital scanners, imaging systems, and modern orthodontic technology Benefits Medical / Health Insurance Paid Time Off Paid Sick Time Paid Holidays Tuition Reimbursement / Continuing Education Support Uniform Allowance Employee Discount Supportive, positive team culture Long-term stability and growth opportunity Excellent work-life balance with summer Fridays and Saturdays off Work Location: In person If you are a licensed dental professional who enjoys hands-on orthodontic care, autonomy, and working closely with a high-performing clinical team, we would love to hear from you. **Please note, A NYS CDA/RDA means you have graduated from an accredited assisting program, have passed the entire DANB, and applied and received a NYS license.
