Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. knows how to pack cord. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and coding. Conduct vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures; provide chairside assistance with medical imaging and other diagnostic tools like 3D scanners. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow smoothly. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards; handle sterilization of instruments and prepare supplies for upcoming procedures. Communicate effectively using dental terminology to explain procedures to patients; demonstrate knowledge of anatomy relevant to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry cases. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on experience with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, and infection control practices. Knowledge of Open Dental. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to accurately interpret dental terminology, medical terminology, and utilize dental imaging technology like 3D scanners. Prior experience supporting multiple specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics is advantageous but not required.
