Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and digital radiography systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, verifying medical histories, updating medical records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and scheduling appointments. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments. Maintain accurate medical coding and documentation for insurance claims and medical records management using Epic or similar systems. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical records, insurance processing, and compliance with infection control protocols. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying aseptic techniques. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently. Familiarity with infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and digital X-ray machines accurately. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds; experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
