Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; accurately document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring comfort throughout visits Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical records in Epic or similar systems Maintain knowledge of anatomy and dental terminology to assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance purposes Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure in your state or region Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, including chairside assisting and infection control practices Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and medical documentation standards Skilled in taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology; knowledge of radiology safety protocols Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and procedures across general dentistry disciplines such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Ability to perform vital signs assessment and support patients with pediatric needs when necessary Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals Join us to elevate patient care through your expertise in dental assisting!
