Prior experience in dental terminology and infection control protocols are a plus but we would love to train on the job as well. No prior experience necessary. Job Description Assist the dentist during various procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history, update patient medical records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when needed Explain treatment procedures to patients using appropriate dental terminology and ensure they are comfortable throughout their visit Maintain sterilization of instruments and cleanliness of the clinical environment in compliance with infection control standards Assist with medical imaging procedures and ensure proper documentation for insurance claims or medical coding purposes Qualifications and willingness to Learn Experienced as a Dental Assistant in a similar dental clinic setting; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge related to dentistry Ability to operate X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively Strong understanding of dental terminology across various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages; experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus Certification in X-ray radiation safety or equivalent credentials preferred but not required Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position provides an engaging opportunity for motivated individuals eager to contribute to patient health outcomes while advancing their skills within a supportive team environment.
