Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our vibrant dental team Mondays and Tuesdays ONLY. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update patient charts, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Open Dental for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including pediatric patient care and pediatric-specific procedures. Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow. Ability to measure vital signs accurately and interpret medical imaging results. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills for patient education, documentation review, and collaboration with team members. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures as well as specialized areas like medical records management and medical coding.
