The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and supporting overall dental health initiatives. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, with a focus on delivering comfortable and effective dental hygiene services. The RDH will work closely with the dental team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist with dental procedures by providing chairside support, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric and general dentistry patients. Ensure compliance with all dental terminology standards, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix Ascend. Experience working in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or both is preferred. Knowledge of anatomy, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and infection control procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks and understand dental assisting principles. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.
