Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging using appropriate aseptic techniques. Record accurate medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other patient information within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Maintain patient comfort through excellent chairside assisting and effective communication. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination. Manage medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records when needed. Assist with the operation of advanced technology including 3D scanners and digital X-ray equipment. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures. Experience with dental imaging including X-ray techniques and 3D scanners. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical documentation accurately. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
