Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in supporting general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and aseptic techniques Record vital signs and medical history accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently, including seating patients, updating medical documentation, and providing post-treatment instructions Maintain infection control standards by following proper sterilization procedures and OSHA guidelines Support the use of advanced technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment when needed Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-care instructions to enhance their understanding and comfort Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and handling dental materials Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is required or preferred for safe imaging practices Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding practices related to dental care This position offers an engaging environment for those committed to advancing their career in dental healthcare while providing exceptional patient service.
