Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Macedon, NY

We offer 7 weeks paid vacation and our hours are Mondays 9am-5pm, Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays are 7am to 3pm. We focus on a positive patient experience and are not a high pressure "sales" office. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions tailored to pediatric and adult patients. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) ensuring proper aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to facilitate smooth operations. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding purposes. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment using four-handed dentistry methods for optimal workflow.
