Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and care. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental radiography including X-ray safety protocols; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is preferred. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, including pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly using dental terminology. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment to prevent cross-contamination. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse; assist with medical imaging procedures; and monitor patient comfort throughout treatments. Serve as a dental receptionist when needed by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Collaborate seamlessly in four-handed dentistry setups to enhance workflow efficiency and provide optimal patient care. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Certification in X-ray technology, CPR certification preferred; additional certifications in medical coding or healthcare compliance are beneficial.
