Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various dental treatments, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Record vital signs and medical history, maintaining accurate medical documentation in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative instructions, and treatment plans using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Operate advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners when necessary for prosthodontics or endodontic procedures. Support administrative tasks as needed, including data entry into medical records systems and assisting with billing or coding processes related to medical documentation. Requirements Prior experience in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or related specialties is preferred. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR platforms. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards within a dental environment. Certification or experience in X-ray techniques and pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively with the dental team. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced setting.
