Job Summary We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to WORK THURSDAYS TO COVER A MATERNITY LEAVE APRIL - AUGUST. More hours would be available to cover other employee days off, if desired. Hygiene appointments are 1 hr, new patient appointments 1.5 hrs; SRP 1.5 hrs. We are very flexible, and have a great work - life balance. If you would like to know more, please apply! Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, vital signs, and current health status. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans tailored to their needs. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards. Collaborate with the dentist and other team members to deliver seamless general dentistry services in a friendly environment. Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation review and record keeping - we use Eaglesoft Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care for pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and medical coding. Familiarity with taking proper radiographs Excellent communication skills to explain treatment procedures clearly and compassionately while ensuring patient comfort.
